BFR
What is BFR?
Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training incorporates blood flow restriction with exercises. The goal of this is to promote muscle hypertrophy and strength by creating higher stresses on the muscles while at the same time incorporating lower amounts of load on the patient. In essence, using BFR with lower weights can provide comparable results to using heavier weights in the same exercises. This can be highly advantageous for patients that are unable to bear higher weights. Utilizing this tool allows us to load patients in more acute phases of injuries more often, allowing us to gain the benefits of exercise while minimizing the risk of re injury.
