Bio
Dr. Alvin Yu is a Southern California native, growing up in the city San Gabriel. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine and completed his Master’s degree in Exercise Science from California State University, Long Beach. During his time at UC Irvine and Long Beach State, he was an integral part in researching the effects of long term microgravity on muscle as well as developing a combined resistive and aerobic exercise device for astronaut use during space flight and the eventual mission to Mars. Alvin received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of California, San Francisco/San Francisco State University.
He has strong clinical interests in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, post-operative care, and manual therapy techniques. His goal is to provide quality care with emphasis on patient education, building strong relationships, and continuing to be a lifelong learner in the field of physical therapy. Alvin also enjoys cooking, indoor/beach volleyball, basketball, rock climbing, road cycling, swimming, and crossfit.
